With the current
economic climate, it is always nice to see larger companies giving back to the
little guys – literally! Ten-year-old Amelia Howarth is a big fan of sofa
giants ScS’ TV adverts. At home, she regularly demonstrates her acting skills
by re-enacting the ads in front of her family. In fact, Amelia loves the ads so
much that she decided to email the company’s head office to let them know.
On receiving
Amelia’s email, most companies would have dismissed it as irrelevant, however,
ScS responded in a very different way.
Amelia, her brother and her mum were actually invited to the filming of the
company’s new ads at the Portrack Lane store in Stockton. Speaking of Amelia’s
message, Lindsey Duncton, marketing manager for ScS said: “We were delighted to read
Amelia’s email and to hear how much she
loved our ads […] we thought it would be a great holiday treat to offer Amelia
the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes and to meet Victoria, who
features in our ads.”
The family spent
the day having a sneak peek at all the hard
work that goes into creating the company’s TV ads. Amelia even got the chance
to speak to the face of ScS, Victoria Thomas, and pick up some extra acting
tips to help better her performance.
Amelia was over the moon with her day out, commenting: “The whole day
was really fantastic and I enjoyed meeting the nice people from ScS. I have
shown all my friends the signed script I was given by Victoria and told them
all about it. It really is the best day of my holidays and I can’t wait to see
the new ads on the TV.”
Mum Emma was also
enthusiastic, adding: “I’m
very thankful to ScS they really did make my ten-year-old daughter’s day. She
was so excited from the moment we received the company’s reply […] It was a
super day, and one that Amelia will not forget for a long while.”
It really is nice
to see one large company taking care of their customers so let’s hope others
can follow suit. A lot more information about ScS can be found at scs.co.uk.
